About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Technician to join our team in providing exceptional care to patients with mental health needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of psychiatric care and be committed to supporting individuals in their recovery journey. This role involves working closely with patients in a correctional setting, ensuring their safety and well-being while assisting with various therapeutic activities. This is not a CNA or RBT role. Licensed Psychiatric Technician license required and registered on DORA.

Requirements

Previous experience in patient care, preferably within a hospital or psychiatric setting.
Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to understand psychiatric care principles.
Strong skills in patient monitoring and documentation practices.
Ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing acute mental health issues.
Compassionate approach towards working with people with disabilities.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with patients and team members.
State of Colorado Psychiatric Tech certification registered with DORA is required.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care, including monitoring and documenting patient behavior and progress.
Assist in the implementation of treatment plans under the supervision of nursing staff or psychiatrists.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
Engage patients in therapeutic activities and support their daily living needs.
Monitor vital signs and report any significant changes to the nursing staff.
Ensure a safe and clean environment for all patients by adhering to hospital protocols.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans.
Support patients with disabilities by promoting independence and dignity.
