About The Position
The Psychiatric Technician will administer medication and therapeutic treatments, monitor for potential side effects and report. They will provide care in a manner that considers the patient’s rights, safety, comfort and the overall therapeutic environment. The technician will observe, document and report resident behavior, and monitor and document weights, blood pressure, pulse and respiration per MD orders and monthly for all residents. Communication with co-workers and supervisors in a timely manner that affects patient care or well-being is essential. The role involves filling resident charts, assisting in the orientation and training of new staff members, and understanding and implementing Merakey policies and procedures. The technician will also order refills of medications, act as lead staff when the Administrator or Asst. Administrator is not available, and complete all other duties as assigned by the Administrator.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have a verifiable High School diploma/G.E.D.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required
