About The Position

The Psychiatric Technician is a brand-new role created specifically for the Bright Path Center, our newest, innovative behavioral health program. This role plays a vital part in supporting individuals experiencing behavioral health and substance use crises. This is an opportunity to get on the ground floor while making a real difference every day.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
At least 1 year of direct patient care experience or equivalent education/certifications
Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, with or without accommodation

Nice To Haves

Phlebotomy Certification
Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field
Experience in crisis, detox, or acute psychiatric settings
Knowledge of trauma-informed, recovery-oriented care

Responsibilities

Monitor patient safety and provide continuous support
Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)
Obtain vital signs, urine drug screens, and perform phlebotomy and specimen collection
Observe and report changes in patient condition
Support admissions, discharges, and unit orientation
Participate in therapeutic activities and structured programming
Use de-escalation techniques during behavioral crises
Maintain a clean, safe, trauma-informed environment
Document care accurately and timely
