About The Position

This position involves providing basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff. The role includes obtaining information on patient condition as requested and reporting any changes. The job description also outlines a Nurse Assistant Training Program where individuals will function in a classroom and clinical learning environment to gain training as unlicensed assistive personnel. While in the clinical setting, duties may include taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, and changing linens, all under the supervision of a clinical educator and nursing staff. A competency assessment will be administered at the end of the training program.

Requirements

• 3 months experience as a nursing assistant in an inpatient or long-term care setting, EMT, or Surgical Technologist in the past 3 years OR Completed an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel Program within the past 3 years OR Completed the “fundamentals of nursing” course with clinical in an accredited nursing program or practical nursing education program OR Must have Missouri CNA License OR Must have MO CNA Appendix AND MO CNA license must be obtained within 120 days of hire
• BLS must be obtained within 90 days
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exhibits valuable time management skills
• Strong analytical/problem solving skills
• Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment
• Is available for work on a consistent and timely basis
• Conscientious, thorough, accurate, and reliable when performing and completing job tasks

Responsibilities
