About The Position

Merakey is seeking a Psychiatric Technician II to join its Residential Program in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. The position focuses on residents’ safety and well-being, therapy, and personal development. The technician supports residents in developing independent-living skills and contributes to a therapeutic environment that encourages personal growth. The role is PRN and pays $19.55 per hour.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related human service field.
• At least one year of experience in a psychiatric or mental health field.
• Knowledge and understanding of severe mental illness, recovery principles, and recovery-driven service systems.
• Valid driver’s license.
• All clearances required by OMHSAS.

Responsibilities

• Lead psycho-educational groups to foster peer interaction, problem-solving, and achievement of treatment goals.
• Assist residents in building life skills for independent living.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow reporting requirements.
• Support residents with household tasks and teach daily living skills, including hygiene and time management.
• Provide crisis intervention when necessary.
• Contribute to a therapeutic environment that encourages personal growth.
