About The Position

Under the supervision and according to departmental policies and procedures, assists nurses in observing and monitoring behavior and physical condition of patients. Performs basic patient care tasks including assisting patients with personal hygiene and other daily living activities as delegated and in accordance with nursing care plans and policies and procedures. Establishes therapeutic relationships with patients and encourages their participation in recreational and other therapeutic activities. Assists in maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate.
  • Strong communication skills required.
  • Successful completion of CPR training and crisis intervention training within 3 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in psychiatric-mental health setting.
  • Previous experience in medical-surgical health care setting.
  • Previous experience with specialty populations (geriatrics or children and adolescents) if working with that population.
