This role will be 3 shifts per week, 7:00am-7:30pm, rotating days and weekends. The Float Psychiatric Technician is responsible for providing a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for psychiatric patients, and to assist with the provision of basic patient care needs including assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hygiene, feeding, toileting, mobility, and vital sign collection on all patients requiring 1:1 and constant observation monitoring throughout the entire organization. In cooperation with other health team members, the Float Psychiatric Technician participates in implementing a care plan designed to meet the specific therapeutic goals of the patient. Some physical labor is involved related to assisting patients with bathing, various ADLs, stocking supplies, belongings or during acute situations e.g., physical holds/restraints. The Float Psychiatric Technician is also expected to function in the role of the Remote Video Monitor Tech.
