About The Position

Mid Cities Psychiatry specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of mental health illnesses, including treatment-resistant depression and substance use disorders. We are looking for a Psychiatric Physician Assistant (PA) to join our highly trained and diversified team of mental health professionals. The PA will be seeing patients in an outpatient clinic and must be able to evaluate, identify, diagnose, and treat patients aged 16 and up with behavioral or emotional disorders. Responsibilities include conducting thorough psychiatric evaluations, developing treatment plans, prescribing medication, and evaluating treatment results. The role also involves coordinating and communicating with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, other physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and therapists, in managing patient challenges and behavioral dysfunction. The position requires completing notes in a timely fashion and offers a full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with no call or weekend duties. Mid Cities Psychiatry has a structured environment with a culture of collaboration, an open-door policy from leadership, and administrative support for clinical staff. Appointments are not double-booked, and hybrid appointments are scheduled based on patient needs.

Requirements

  • Master's (Required)
  • PA licensure from the Texas State Board of Physician Assistants
  • Certification from NCCPA
  • US work authorization (Required)
  • At least 2 years of experience in the clinical settings
  • Strong clinical background with solid experience in Psychiatry
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, collaborative, curious, and proactive
  • Responsive to a fast-paced environment
  • Must have a working knowledge of EMR/EHR
  • Eligibility is currently open to: U.S. Citizens, U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents, Foreign nationals who are in the U.S. at the time of application and on a valid J1 visa

Responsibilities
