About The Position
University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking Psychiatric Nursing Assistants to perform specific tasks to assist members of the Nursing team in providing patient care under the direct supervision of Registered Nurses. This role is for the Medicine Psychiatric Inpatient Unit (3BT), a 15-bed secure unit serving adult patients with acute physical illnesses in conjunction with acute psychiatric disorders. This specialized unit is one of the few of its kind in the country.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write and follow instructions
Nice To Haves
- Experience defusing volatile situations
- Be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Have strong written communication skills with experience providing customer service relations
- Previous patient care experience in a Mental Health setting is highly desired
