About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric provides comprehensive, cost effective health care to families which includes assessment, diagnosis, and treatment according to the standards of advanced nursing practice. This position will be supporting patients at Family Health Center, 26 Queen Street and Worcester Health Care for the Homeless, 199 Chandler Street.

Requirements

• Graduate of an ANA accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Master’s Degree in Nursing required.
• Minimum of five years of relevant experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner required.
• Must have demonstrated ability to work independently with complex patient care.
• Current licensure by Massachusetts Board of Nursing as Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
• Current DEA/Mass Controlled Substance license for prescriptive authority.
• BLS required.
• Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent computer skills (included but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)

• Maintains working knowledge of and adhere to the program Manual, agency handbook and Policies and Procedures

• Attends all required trainings as per Agency Policy, Program Manual and Funder Guidelines.

• Maintains positive and professional working relationship with co-workers, managers, clients, visitors and outside providers
• Provides psychiatric health services, education, counseling and emotional support.
• Issues medication in accordance with treatment guidelines.
• Collaborates with Consulting Psychiatrist
