About The Position
Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for its detox and residential substance use disorder treatment facility in Denver, Colorado. The role provides medical care, medication management, and clinical oversight in a structured detox and residential setting. It emphasizes patient stabilization, interdisciplinary collaboration, accurate documentation, and regulatory compliance. The facility is a 100-bed detox and inpatient substance use disorder treatment center with medical and clinical services in one location. The role works with 24/7 medical and clinical teams to support patient safety, stabilization, and recovery.
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Colorado Nurse Practitioner (FNP or PMHNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) license.
- Active DEA registration.
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, psychiatry, or mental health; one or more years is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct medical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide medical monitoring and medication management in detox and residential care.
- Stabilize patients with substance use disorders to support engagement in treatment.
- Order and review medications, laboratory tests, and urine drug screens.
- Document medical care in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations and JCAHO, CARF, and ASAM standards.
- Manage daily and weekly patient schedules.
