Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Binghamton, NY)
About The Position
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide mental health services in long-term care and nursing home facilities. This is a rewarding opportunity to deliver impactful psychiatric care to an often-overlooked population. You will make a lasting difference by providing essential psychiatric care to geriatric patients. This role offers flexible scheduling with part-time and full-time options, local travel with day-to-day variety across multiple facilities, and a collaborative care model with medical directors, nurses, and social workers. You will practice independently with supportive leadership, in a low-stress, predictable work environment (non-hospital setting) focusing on stable, chronic conditions. You will build meaningful relationships and continuity with your patient panel, with multiple facilities available to match commute preferences.
Requirements
- Certified PMHNP
- Active DEA
- Active, unrestricted state license
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience with geriatric or long-term care populations preferred
- Prior experience as a Psychiatric RN or Psychiatric NP in a nursing home or similar setting is a plus
Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications
- Collaborate with facility staff and family members
- Provide compassionate, trauma-informed care
- Document care in compliance with regulatory standards

- Compensation for Orientation & Training - Up to 40 hours
