Requirements

  • Board Eligible or Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner.
  • All necessary requirements must be met to practice adult psychiatry in CA.
  • Superior communication skills working with patients, family members, community stakeholders and staff.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of management experience in a behavioral health setting such as a hospital, outpatient clinic, or related service provider required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience treating clients which preferable would include young adults and adults in the mental health.
  • A valid Driver's license and a generally clean driving record are required.
  • State licensing DHS and DSS prohibit individuals with specific criminal charges, conducted by Livescan fingerprint checks.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with mental health PHP/IOP and/or psychiatric hospital experience desired.
  • Experience with co-occurring disorders and/or substance use disorders a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts all Psychiatric Evaluations and ensures medical necessity for all individuals enrolled in the PHP.
  • Provides medication management services for individuals enrolled in PHP as needed.
  • Available on-site at least weekly and by telephone in unusual or urgent situations related to medication.
  • Provides consultation, education and related information to patients and the families, if involved, to increase success of treatment and program engagement.
  • Directs and collaborates with staff on clinical activities and interventions.
  • Provides consultation to community referrals as needed to ensure successful disposition of former patients.
  • Completes medical record and other documentation in a timely and accurate manner as needed to meet clinical, payer and other requirements.
  • Participates in marketing and outreach events on occasion.
  • Perform other activities as requested by the Director and assume other appropriate medical responsibilities as necessary.
