The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will provide trauma-informed, holistic mental health care to refugees, asylees, and individuals seeking substance use disorder (SUD) treatment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in psychiatric evaluation, psychopharmacology, and integrated behavioral health, with a commitment to improving access and reducing stigma for marginalized communities. As a member of the health center’s integrated care team, the PMHNP will conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnose and treat psychiatric disorders, develop individualized treatment plans, prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, and provide crisis intervention. The role involves examining, diagnosing, and treating patients within licensure parameters, providing consultations, and offering time-limited ongoing care for high-risk or complex clients. The position requires timely documentation and billing, compliance with meaningful use and PCMH activities, and collaboration with all providers to ensure coordinated patient-centered care. The PMHNP will also participate in performance improvement activities, adhere to evidence-based guidelines, and attend necessary meetings and committees. Working on-site is an essential duty, and other responsibilities may be assigned by the Medical Director of Behavioral Health.
