About The Position

At CEC Healthcare, we believe high-quality healthcare should be accessible, compassionate, and person-centered. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we provide integrated medical, dental, and behavioral health services to adults and children across the community, including specialized support for individuals with developmental disabilities. We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our behavioral health team at our Seaford outpatient clinic. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician who values meaningful patient relationships, interdisciplinary collaboration, and community-based care.

Requirements

  • Active New York State Nurse Practitioner license with prescriptive authority
  • Master’s degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from an accredited program
  • Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
  • Active DEA registration
  • Minimum of one (1) year of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner experience required
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaborative care skills

Nice To Haves

  • three (3) years preferred
  • Experience in outpatient, community mental health, FQHC, or integrated care settings preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments
  • Diagnose psychiatric and behavioral health conditions across the lifespan
  • Develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practices
  • Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychiatric medications in accordance with New York State regulations
  • Monitor treatment effectiveness and adjust interventions as clinically appropriate
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate integrated care services and support each other to ensure patients are covered with medication needs.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, medications, and treatment recommendations
  • Participate in quality improvement and compliance initiatives consistent with FQHC standards
