About The Position

We are seeking a full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide outpatient psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and treatment services for adults living with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders in Hampton, VA. This onsite position offers a Monday–Friday schedule and a collaborative behavioral health team environment focused on patient-centered care. Requirements

  • Master’s Degree with an Active Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license with Psychiatric Nurse/Mental Health Practitioner specialty
  • One (1) year of experience working with individuals who are living with mental illness and/or substance use disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication management, and treatment for adults with serious mental illness in an outpatient setting.
  • Conduct assessments.
  • Develop treatment plans.
  • Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications under a collaborative practice agreement.
  • Respond to client crises.
  • Maintain accurate documentation.
  • Provide therapeutic support and educate clients and families on treatment plans while considering individual mental health, cultural, and financial needs.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team of professionals to deliver comprehensive patient-centered mental health care, focusing on helping clients adapt and thrive in their environments.
