About The Position

Care Alliance Health Center is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide compassionate, evidence-based behavioral healthcare within an integrated primary care and behavioral health model. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current Ohio Registered Nurse license
  • Current Ohio Certificate of Authority
  • Board Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
  • Current DEA registration with prescriptive authority
  • Current BLS certification
  • Eligibility for credentialing and privileging

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years of psychiatric prescribing experience
  • Experience working in integrated behavioral health, primary care, community mental health, or an FQHC
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record
  • Experience caring for underserved populations

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental status examinations.
  • Diagnose and treat psychiatric and substance use disorders across the lifespan.
  • Assess suicide risk, homicide risk, and other behavioral health safety concerns.
  • Develop differential diagnoses using DSM-5-TR criteria.
  • Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications within scope of practice.
  • Monitor medication effectiveness, side effects, and patient adherence.
  • Provide medication education to patients and families.
  • Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Coordinate care with primary care providers, behavioral health clinicians, and specialty providers.
  • Refer patients to higher levels of behavioral health care when clinically appropriate.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and case consultations.
  • Support care coordination for patients with complex behavioral health and medical needs.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and recovery goals.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and complete documentation in Epic.
  • Participate in quality improvement, peer review, department meetings, and organizational initiatives.
