PSYCHIATRIC NURSE PRACTITIONER (PMHNP) INPATIENT
About The Position
Gulfport Behavioral Health System is an acute behavioral health hospital on the Mississippi Gulf Coast providing inpatient, partial hospitalization and outpatient services to children, adolescents, and adults. We have served our community for over 30-years and our Patriot Support Program provides inpatient around-the-clock mental health treatment to help military members and their families, veterans, and first responders cope with stressful issues every day. Join our expanding medical staff team where the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner assists in the process of evaluating patients. Responsible for psychiatric assessments for inpatient or outpatient populations and consults with the physician regarding treatment recommendations and referrals. Opportunities to work with various patient populations including children, adolescents, adults, military, and detox/transition patients. The position is a day shift position Monday through Friday with on-call responsibilities.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or APRN.
- Completion of a post graduate program for psychiatric mental health nursing.
- Licensed to practice in the State of Mississippi as a Nurse Practitioner or APRN.
- Prescriptive authority from the Board of Medical Examiners is required if medication privileges are exercised.
Nice To Haves
- Two or more years experience within a psychiatric setting.
- A minimum of two (2) years experience in working with an Outpatient setting.
