About The Position
Avenues Recovery Center is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) for their Detox and Residential treatment facility in Denver, CO. This role involves providing medical care, medication management, and clinical oversight within a substance use disorder treatment setting. The position emphasizes patient stabilization, interdisciplinary collaboration, accurate documentation, and regulatory compliance, offering a structured and supportive environment for clinicians.
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (FNP, PMHNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) license in Colorado
- Active DEA registration
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Nice To Haves
- Experience in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, psychiatry, or mental health (1+ year preferred)
Responsibilities
- Conduct medical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide medical monitoring and medication management in detox and residential care
- Stabilize patients with substance use disorders to support engagement in treatment
- Order and review medications, labs, and urine drug screens (UDS)
- Document all medical care in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Collaborate with medical, clinical, and utilization review (UR) teams
- Ensure compliance with state regulations, JCAHO, CARF, and ASAM standards
- Manage daily and weekly patient schedules efficiently
