Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner - Nursing Supervisor
About The Position
This is a leadership role for a Nursing Supervisor III at A Mission for Michael (AMFM Healthcare), a growing organization focused on providing high-quality, compassionate residential mental health care. The role involves shaping clinical excellence, mentoring nursing teams, and supporting individuals on their mental health recovery journey. The Nursing Supervisor III will oversee a regional nursing team, ensuring safe, effective, and compliant care across multiple residential settings, while upholding the company's standards of ethics, quality, and patient-centered treatment. This position requires collaboration with clinical, medical, and operations teams to support the mission of delivering exceptional care to adults navigating mental health challenges.
Requirements
- Active Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in California
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting
- Strong leadership experience supervising nursing or medical support staff
- Knowledge of clinical operations, medication management, and regulatory compliance
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- CPR/First Aid Certification and current TB clearance
- Valid driver’s license with insurability per company policy
Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and develop a multidisciplinary nursing team across multiple facilities
- Oversee scheduling, timekeeping, performance management, and staff development
- Ensure all clients receive care and medications as prescribed, with accurate documentation and auditing
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, accreditation standards, and AMFM policies
- Conduct assessments, oversee medication management, and support infection control practices
- Collaborate with regional providers and internal teams to coordinate comprehensive client care
- Monitor clinical documentation and uphold the integrity of the electronic health record (EHR) system
- Serve as an on-call resource for nursing and medical teams within the region
