About The Position
Expanding practice seeks a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Child & Adolescent) to work in Brighton, Massachusetts! (Boston Area) Join a mission-driven, comprehensive health center providing integrated behavioral health services to a diverse, underserved community, part-time, with flexible scheduling. The company is a comprehensive community health practice providing medical, pharmacy, dental, behavioral health, optical, and vision services. It serves over 13,500 patients annually, with 90% low-income and over 70% needing services in a language other than English. Fluency in English and Spanish or Portuguese is preferred, and experience in diverse cultures is a plus.
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts license to practice psychiatry
- Active PMHNP board certification
- At least 2 years of experience working with children and adolescents
- Prior ambulatory experience preferred

Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients under 18, providing psychiatric assessment, care, and health education
- Prescribe medications, including controlled substances, using evidence-based medicine
- Provide consultation to nurses triaging walk-in or call-in patients
- Manage and follow up on patients through EMR
- Maintain continuity of care across referrals, ER visits, and specialty/inpatient services
- Refer patients for specialty services in consultation with an MD
- Participate in continuing education and annual performance evaluations
- Educate patients and families on mental health, medications, and treatment plans
- Collaborate with behavioral health clinicians on medication management referrals and follow-ups
