About The Position
The Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) is seeking a compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) at the Hampton Roads Methadone Clinic in Newport News, Virginia. This part-time position offers the opportunity to provide nursing care that supports adults on their recovery journey from opioid use disorder while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary behavioral health team. Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program.
- Current Virginia Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing.
- One (1) year of experience in the administration of medication or in a substance abuse treatment, psychiatric setting or long term care facility including the dispensing of narcotic medication.
- The selected candidate must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, DMV record check, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.
Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications in accordance with physician orders and program protocols.
- Monitor clients for medication effectiveness, side effects, and withdrawal symptoms.
- Complete nursing assessments and document clinical observations accurately.
- Assist the psychiatrist and treatment team with medication management and client care.
- Provide health education and supportive nursing interventions.
- Collaborate with counselors, providers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
- Maintain accurate medication records and clinical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and agency regulations governing opioid treatment services.
