Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Faculty - Full-Time Non-Tenure Stream
About The Position
The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing is seeking qualified applicants for full-time, non-tenure stream psychiatric mental health nursing faculty in the Department of Health and Community Systems. This Appointment-Stream position will be a full-time faculty member in the Health and Community Systems Department in the School of Nursing, who will be responsible for teaching, clinical instruction, scholarship, and service. Responsibilities will include teaching and mentoring students in both the classroom and clinical setting, contributing to course development and delivery, and supporting student learning, professional development, and readiness for practice. Expectations also include active and sustained engagement in scholarship, clinical innovation, and dissemination through publications and presentations. The faculty member will also participate in service activities that support the School, University, profession, and community, contributing to committees, professional organizations, clinical partnerships, and community-based initiatives in alignment with the mission of the institution. Other duties may be assigned based on department needs. Faculty members receive dedicated time and resources to ensure they can successfully conduct their program of research, disseminate their research, and develop professionally. Faculty promotion opportunities are available for all ranks.
Requirements
- An earned doctorate in nursing or a field related to the area of scholarship within the School of Nursing is required.
- Evidence of or potential for a sustained and impactful program of scholarship.
- Evidence of or potential for excellence in teaching and mentoring, and contributing to a learning environment that values evidence-based practice.
- Evidence of a sustained and impactful program of scholarship that is nationally recognized (for Associate Professor).
- Evidence of excellence in teaching and mentoring, and contributing to a learning environment that values evidence-based practice (for Associate Professor).
- Evidence of or potential for leadership in the field (for Associate Professor).
- Evidence of a sustained and impactful program of scholarship that is internationally recognized (for Professor).
- Evidence of excellence in teaching and mentoring, and contributing to a learning environment that values evidence-based practice (for Professor).
- Evidence of leadership in the field (for Professor).
