About The Position

Under the direction of the Medical Director and day-to-day supervision of the Behavioral Health Director within established policies and procedures, performs initial psychiatric evaluation, diagnoses, ongoing assessment, and treatment of individuals with mild to moderate and severe and persistent mental illness. Identifies client needs, develops treatment plans and referrals, and provides medication management. Collaborates with Family Nurse Practitioners and provides psychiatric support/recommendations for patient care; performs related work as required.

Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university school of nursing
• Licensure in the State of Michigan and board certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner
• Certified as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) by the ANCC or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB)
• Michigan Controlled Substance License
• Current DEA license
• Three (3) years of clinical experience working with individuals with mild to moderate and severe and persistent mental illness and/or developmental disabilities, including assessment, medication management, and crisis intervention.
• Must be willing to work occasional weekends, holidays or irregular hours
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Records
• Valid Michigan Driver’s license and use of a vehicle during working hours
• Must be able to meet the physical and sensory demands of the position
• BLS certification

• Preference of experience working with children in an outpatient setting.
