About The Position
Suncoast Psychiatry is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to join their growing outpatient team in Lutz, Florida. This role is ideal for a PMHNP who has established a strong clinical foundation and desires a practice that fosters meaningful patient relationships, encourages collaboration with an experienced psychiatric team, and allows for a significant impact on the community. The practice is looking for an individual who is confident in their clinical skills, passionate about mental health, and dedicated to providing thoughtful, individualized patient care.
Requirements
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Current PMHNP-BC certification
- Active Florida APRN license
- Active DEA registration
- Previous experience practicing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner required
- Strong psychiatric assessment and medication-management skills
- Ability to independently manage an outpatient patient panel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound clinical judgment and decision-making abilities
- Collaborative, team-oriented approach to patient care

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments.
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of psychiatric and behavioral health conditions.
- Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications.
- Monitor treatment effectiveness and make appropriate adjustments to medication and treatment plans.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment options, and ongoing care.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining appropriate clinical boundaries and standards.
- Remain current on evidence-based practices, emerging treatments, and developments within psychiatric care.
