About The Position

QUICKmed Urgent Care is seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable, and patient-focused Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management for patients across a variety of mental health needs. As a PMHNP, you will work collaboratively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans and promote overall mental and emotional well-being. Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.
  • Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
  • Current DEA registration and prescriptive authority, as applicable.
  • Experience providing psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with patients and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered, trauma-informed care.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience treating patients across the lifespan.
  • Experience in outpatient psychiatry, integrated behavioral health, urgent care, primary care, or a similar clinical setting.
  • Experience managing common psychiatric conditions, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and other mood or behavioral health disorders.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based psychiatric screening and assessment tools.
  • Experience working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including assessment of mental health history, current symptoms, psychosocial factors, and risk factors.
  • Diagnose and treat a variety of psychiatric and behavioral health conditions.
  • Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with patients.
  • Manage and monitor psychotropic medication regimens using a trauma-informed, patient-centered approach.
  • Assess medication effectiveness, side effects, adherence, and the need for treatment adjustments.
  • Utilize evidence-based screening and assessment tools, including PHQ-9, GAD-7, and other appropriate measures, to support diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing progress monitoring.
  • Identify and appropriately respond to psychiatric emergencies and safety concerns, including assessment of suicide and self-harm risk.
  • Provide education to patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and strategies for maintaining mental health.
  • Promote healthy coping strategies, disease prevention, and overall wellness.
  • Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests and laboratory work when clinically indicated.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough medical records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with primary care providers, therapists, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain awareness of current psychiatric treatment guidelines, medications, and evidence-based practices.
  • Participate in professional development, continuing education, and clinical research as appropriate.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all applicable healthcare regulations, policies, and standards.
