Requirements

  • Master's Degree from an accredited nursing program
  • PMHNP-BC certification
  • At least one year of independent psychiatric experience working under licensure
  • Active Pennsylvania PMHNP/APRN license
  • DEA license and State Prescriptive Authority
  • Own a phone, computer, and high-speed internet
  • Flexibility to work during Blackbird's core after-school hours: after 4pm ET during the week and/or weekends
  • Experience working with children and adolescents as a psychiatric nurse practitioner
  • Practiced independently at the top of your scope for at least one year under licensure
  • Skilled in facilitating both in-person and virtual sessions with strong technical proficiency (Google Suite, EMR systems, virtual platforms)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and diagnoses for children, adolescents, and young adults.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans and provide medication management.
  • Build meaningful therapeutic relationships with patients and families, providing education and fostering trust.
  • Monitor patient progress against care goals and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Ensure patient safety and intervene proactively when concerns arise.
  • Collaborate with therapists and other healthcare professionals to create integrated treatment plans.
  • Participate in weekly team and supervisory clinical meetings.
  • Provide consultation and education to patients and their families.
  • Oversee diagnostic testing, including digital and lab results.
  • Maintain thorough, HIPAA-compliant records of patient meetings and progress.
