About The Position
Join RKM as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and make a difference in the community by providing primary care in an ambulatory health setting as part of a primary care team. Since 1999, our mission is to provide open access to quality patient-centered healthcare in the communities in which we live. RKM Primary Care is a Federally Qualified Health Center with 10 clinics in 5 parishes. This position delivers behavioral health services in an ambulatory health setting, as part of a primary care team. Our sites qualify for the National Health Service Corps loan repayment program (individual qualifications apply).
Requirements
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse currently licensed to practice in the State of Louisiana.
- Certification from a formal recognized certifying Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program.
- Current Basic Life Support.

Responsibilities
- Differentiate normal from abnormal variations signs and symptoms of mental illnesses.
- Order diagnostics, monitor completion, review and interpret results, conduct follow-up.
- Develop individualized problem lists and related treatment plan.
- Provide appropriate pharmacological management in accordance with clinical practice guidelines.
- Perform procedures in accordance with standards of practice and clinical practice guidelines.
- Collaborate with other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team of PCPFHF.
- Order referrals for on-site services and off-site specialist, monitor completion and outcome.
