About The Position

Blackbird Health is looking for a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join their interdisciplinary team in a weekend-only role. The position involves delivering comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, and medication management for children, adolescents, and young adults. The company is growing into new markets and offers virtual and in-person mental health services across Pennsylvania, Virginia, and New Jersey. Blackbird Health emphasizes a whole-child approach, focusing on the interaction between the brain, body, and behavior to address the root causes of challenges. The role is part-time, W-2 employment, requiring 20 hours per week (17 clinical, 3 non-clinical), with a fully remote work model and a weekend-only schedule (Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM ET).

Requirements

  • Master's Degree from an accredited nursing program.
  • PMHNP-BC certification.
  • At least one year of independent psychiatric experience working under licensure.
  • Active license in PA, VA, NJ, or MD (or willingness to obtain these via Blackbird sponsorship).
  • DEA license and State Prescriptive Authority.
  • Availability for weekend shifts on Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM ET.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, EMR systems, and virtual platforms for telehealth.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults.
  • Develop treatment plans in collaboration with therapists.

  • Maintain HIPAA-compliant records.
  • Educate parents and caregivers on their child's mental health journey.
