About The Position

Backpack Healthcare is seeking a part-time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who wants flexibility, strong clinical collaboration, and the opportunity to make a measurable difference in the lives of children, teens, and young adults through a fully remote model. This opportunity allows clinicians to build a consistent caseload without the demands of a full-time schedule, whether they are supplementing an existing role, seeking additional income, balancing family or personal commitments, or transitioning into telehealth. The role offers a 100% remote work environment with full operational and clinical support, flexible scheduling with afternoon, evening, and weekend availability, and a collaborative care model where clinicians partner closely with therapists, psychiatrists, and care coordinators in an integrated behavioral health setting. Requirements

• Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited PMHNP program
• Active, unrestricted Maryland PMHNP license & DEA
• Board Certification (PMHNP-BC)
• Experience with or passion for working with youth and families
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
• Comfort practicing in a telehealth environment
• New graduates are encouraged to apply — structured mentorship is available.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations via telehealth
• Formulate accurate, evidence-based diagnoses
• Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with families
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications
• Monitor effectiveness and adjust treatment as needed
• Provide brief supportive therapy and psychoeducation
• Partner with therapists and care teams to ensure coordinated treatment
• Participate in interdisciplinary case consultations
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the EHR
• Uphold all ethical and professional standards
