About The Position

As an Intake Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Blackbird Health, you'll play an essential role in delivering comprehensive psychiatric intake evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults. You'll build meaningful connections with patients and families from the very start of their care journey, spending the necessary time to understand their needs, educate them about care options, and ensure a seamless transition into ongoing treatment. Working alongside an interdisciplinary team, you'll be empowered to make a tangible difference in the lives of young patients and their families from day one. This remote role requires a minimum of 10 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Active PMHNP license in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania or New Jersey
  • A minimum of 2 years experience working independently in the role of a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner
  • A minimum of 1 year experience working with children, adolescents or young adults under any nursing license
  • Board Certification by ANCC or AANP (PMHNP-BC)
  • DEA license and State Prescriptive Authority License
  • Autonomous Practice Status
  • Computer, phone and high speed internet
  • Experience with Google Suite, EHR systems and tech knowledge
  • Commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Comprehensive Intake Evaluations: Conduct thorough psychiatric intake evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults. Develop individualized treatment plans that address the unique needs of each patient and establish a strong clinical foundation for their ongoing care.
  • Drive Strong Clinical Matches: Assess each patient thoroughly and collaborate with the clinical team to ensure every patient is connected to the right ongoing provider and treatment approach.
  • Collaborate for Integrated Care: Work closely with therapists and other healthcare professionals to create coordinated treatment plans that address the whole child. Communicate and engage with families during the intake process to ensure a warm, supported entry into care.
  • Educate & Empower Families: Provide education and consultation to patients and their families during the intake process, helping them understand diagnoses, treatment options, and how to support their child's mental health journey.
  • Ensure Clinical Excellence & Compliance: Oversee diagnostic testing including digital and lab results and maintain thorough, HIPAA-compliant intake documentation.
