About The Position

The Psychiatric Counselor provides patient care activities, including individual and group counseling in the context of patients’ treatment plans. The position operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures and reports to the Nurse Manager, Behavioral Health. This is a per-diem, onsite role at Cooley Dickinson Hospital, Inc., with a rotating shift and 0 scheduled weekly hours.

Requirements

• BA or BS in Psychology or a related field from an accredited school.
• Current CPR certification.
• CPI certification within 90 days of employment.
• 1–3 years of experience working with mentally ill and substance abuse populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual counseling in the context of patients’ treatment plans.
• Provide group counseling in the context of patients’ treatment plans.
• Perform a variety of patient care activities.
