Psychiatric Counselor, DAS
About The Position
Devereux/TCV Community Services is hiring for a Full-Time Diversion & Acute Stabilization (DAS) Psychiatric Counselor. TCV is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and responsible person to join the treatment team serving adults with behavioral health challenges. As a DAS Psychiatric Counselor, you will work with other dedicated professionals who want to improve the lives of individuals with mental health and other disabilities. You will encourage individuals to meet their recovery goals, monitor their physical and emotional well-being, use de-escalation and emergency techniques when necessary, and develop and teach strategies to promote wellness and independence. You will also collaborate with the treatment team, including psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, and service coordinators.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in social/human services, or related field, required.
- 18 years of age or older required.
- Agree to a PA state criminal history, child abuse record and FBI Clearance.
- Agree to a pre-employment drug screening, one-step TB and physical.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience working in social services with adults with behavioral health disorders, highly preferred.
- Valid driver's license
Responsibilities
