Psychiatric Associate - Senior Inpatient

Fairview Health ServicesMinneapolis, MN
Onsite

About The Position

Looking to work in role that will make a difference in the community? We at Fairview are looking for a dedicated Psychiatric Associate to join the hardworking Riverside side location on the University of Minnesota Campus! This unit are generally persons who are 55 years of age and older having a mental health diagnosis meeting the need for inpatient hospitalization. Our patients here are working on their mental health while still having the ability to fully participate in therapeutic programming. Patients that require extensive medical cares, the use of external equipment, those that have a primary diagnosis of chemical abuse, or exhibit severe aggression, or are intellectually and developmentally impaired, or having a diagnosis of dementia or delirium that renders them unable to participate and benefit from therapeutic groups and education are not appropriate admissions to this unit and would be provided other recommendations for other services or facilities. This unit has a variety of caregivers – many nurses with over 30 years of experience working with this population and newer staff that bring a renewed freshness to our groups and milieu. Everyone on the Seniors unit love what they do and enjoy educating new staff to this highly rewarding unit! This role is approved for 64 hours, every two weeks on the evening shift, working 8-hour shifts and every other weekend with a variable schedule. This position is SEIU benefit eligible.
