Requirements

  • Active APRN license required, with all certifications and credentials maintained in accordance with State of Connecticut regulations, including:
  • Connecticut APRN License
  • Controlled Substance Registration
  • Federal DEA Registration
  • Experience with youth mental health, trauma, family systems, and neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Dedication to ethical practice, diversity, equity, and professional integrity.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in outpatient, residential, or community behavioral health settings preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and provide treatment, including medication management, for children and adolescents.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and discharge recommendations.
  • Provide psychiatric consultation and clinical guidance to the treatment team.
  • Participate in clinical rounds, medication reviews, and treatment team meetings.
  • Apply knowledge of child and adolescent development to inform diagnosis and treatment.
  • Assess and treat adolescent substance use disorders.
  • Provide coverage for colleagues to ensure consistent psychiatric services.
  • Participate in the agency’s after-hours on-call rotation.
