About The Position

Northern Pines Mental Health Center is proud to offer competitive wages and an exceptional benefits package! We are seeking an Advanced Practice Nurse to join our Psychiatric team. The primary function of this position is to provide clinical and psychiatric services to Northern Pines Mental Health Center clients in a variety of settings. Duties include: consultation, medication reviews and evaluations, providing clinical supervision as needed/ assigned, and psychiatric assessments. This position will share time between our Outpatient Clinical Psychiatric Team and our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team, providing services to adults in an in-home setting.

Requirements

  • This position may be filled by Nurse Practitioner, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, or Clinical Nurse Specialist with a certification in Psychiatry and Mental Health
  • Must hold current, unencumbered license in the State of Minnesota
  • Valid MN Driver's License and ability to operate a motor vehicle for frequent work travel

Responsibilities

  • Medication evaluations
  • Continued psychiatric services with new or existing clients
  • Consultations with medical doctors
  • Psychiatric assessments
  • Provision of psychiatric evaluations and updates
  • Consultation prior to admission, during intake process, utilization management, and step-down/discharge services
  • Administer medications, including injectables, to clients
  • Examine clients to assess general physical condition
  • Monitor clients' medication usage and results
  • Document clients' medical and psychological histories, physical assessment results, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, or outcomes.
  • Diagnose psychiatric disorders and mental health conditions
  • Educate clients and family members about mental health and medical conditions, preventive health measures, medications, or treatment plans
  • Write prescriptions for psychotropic medications as allowed by Minnesota state regulations and collaborative practice agreements
  • Develop and implement treatment plans
  • Conduct individual, group, or family psychotherapy
