About The Position

Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC), part of Dartmouth Health's Department of Psychiatry, is seeking a full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for a new inpatient psychiatric unit for adolescents at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT. This role involves an alternating schedule with some night and weekend coverage, along with generous allowances for vacation and conference time. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will join a dedicated interdisciplinary team, including social workers, therapists, psychiatrists, and medical providers, to deliver high-quality, state-of-the-art inpatient psychiatric care to adolescents aged 12-17. The position emphasizes professional development, allowing nurse practitioners to practice at the top of their scope. Opportunities for clinical supervision, precepting, and didactic teaching in APRN and other psychiatric education training programs are available for interested applicants. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited APRN academic program.
  • National specialty certification as Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Eligible for RN licensure in the State of NH (APRN only).
  • Eligible for APRN licensure in the State of NH.
  • Eligible for Federal DEA Registration.
  • BLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide state-of-the-art inpatient psychiatric care to adolescents age 12-17 in an inpatient setting.
  • Work collaboratively within an experienced interdisciplinary team.
  • Participate in an alternating schedule that includes some night and weekend coverage.
  • Engage in opportunities for clinical supervision, precepting, and didactic teaching if interested.
