About The Position
The Psychiatric Technician functions as a member of the psychiatric patient care team. As a Psychiatric Service Technician, you play a crucial role in providing direct care and support to individuals with mental health disorders. Responsibilities will include assisting patients with daily activities, observing and documenting patient behavior, and collaborating with the clinical team to ensure the well-being and safety of patients.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must complete and maintain BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer
- Must have de-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days); must have appropriate level of de-escalation training
- Proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer (must be keyboard proficient) and other office technology (i.e., telephone, fax, etc.), MS Outlook and Word
- Must be able to demonstrate appropriate clinical judgment and apply appropriate professional skills to a patient population of all ages
Nice To Haves
- One (1) year experience as a Nurse Assistant or a related field preferred
- Mental health experience preferred
