About The Position

Vanderbilt Health is the region's largest comprehensive academic health system with eight hospitals and over 180 clinics. This position is on the VPH Adult CSL Team E. The role involves applying the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, including education and continuum of care planning. Effective communication with the healthcare team, collaboration on patient goals, and progress evaluation are key. Professional growth is encouraged through learning activities aligned with Board of Nursing standards. The unit is a 24-bed facility with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6, caring for adult patients (18+) with various psychiatric illnesses, including depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and substance misuse disorders.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved discipline program
1 year of RN experience
Active RN license

Responsibilities

Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.
Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team.
Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes.
Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards.
Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
