About The Position

This position is for our Adult 1 unit that cares for adult patients ranging in age from 18 and older who are being treated for a variety of psychiatric illnesses including but not limited to schizophrenia, catatonia, and bipolar disease. This is a 24 bed unit with a ratio of 1:6. The person hired into this position will work four 8-hour shifts per week from 11:00p-7:00a for a total of 32 hours per week, to include some weekends.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved discipline program
1 year RN experience
Active RN license
Evidence-Based Practice (Novice)
Care Planning (Novice)
Nursing Patient Education (Novice)
Nursing Patient Assessment & Evaluation (Novice)

Responsibilities

Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.
Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team.
Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes.
Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards.
Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
