About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team at Erie Division, 2418 W Division Street Chicago, IL. Work Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 0830am-5:30pm and Wednesday 10:00am-7:00pm. Phlebotomist will work in either a Patient Service Center or Client office. In this role you will provide exceptional customer service, perform skilled specimen collections and be the face of the company. In addition, you will be provided opportunities for continuous growth within the organization.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Reliable transportation
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • This position requires you to be fully vaccinated.
  • Subject to applicable law, all prospective hires will need to provide proof of being fully vaccinated for 2-dose Varicella vaccine series or titer, 2-dose MMR vaccine series or titer, Tdap (once in lifetime) and Td within the last 10 years,Tuberculosis screening within 12 months of date of hire, Flu Vaccination (applicable October 1st - April 1st), and Completion of 3-dose Hepatitis B vaccine series or positive titer or qualify for medical or religious accommodations.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 year or more of phlebotomy experience with adults and children
  • 1 year Pediatric experience
  • In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency

Responsibilities

  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
  • Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
  • Process billing information and collect payments as necessary
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
  • Maintain patient and specimen information logs
  • Provide superior customer service to all patients
  • Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
  • Travel to additional sites when needed
