About The Position

The Permanent Supportive Housing Caseworker (Temporary) position provides case management and housing-related services while ensuring the safety of clients and program spaces. This role participates in program coverage and outreach activities, ensures the collection, documentation, and reporting of information and data as required, and works as a member of the RRHS team to support and achieve outcomes aligned with program goals and the agency mission. The population served includes people experiencing homelessness in York, Cumberland, Waldo, Knox, Lincoln, and Sagadahoc counties. This is a full-time temporary position expected to last approximately three (3) months from the start date.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field of study, or a comparable combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the Preble Street mission, harm reduction, and social and economic justice, including the role of policy advocacy across all programs and positions.
  • A strong understanding of mental illness, substance use, and co-occurring disorders, as well as low-barrier services and the related challenges.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and positive regard for individuals experiencing homelessness and/or living in poverty.

Nice To Haves

  • A master’s degree in social work or a related field, or a bachelor’s degree in social work with two to three years of relevant experience.
