About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a phlebotomist to join its team in Huntsville, Alabama. The phlebotomist may work in a Patient Service Center or a client office, providing skilled specimen collection and exceptional customer service as a representative of the company. The role offers opportunities for continued growth within the organization. This position requires full COVID-19 vaccination, subject to applicable law and medical or religious accommodations.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification, completion of a phlebotomy training program, or at least 3 months of phlebotomy experience.
• If relying on certification or training in lieu of work experience, it must be from an accredited agency.
• Proven track record of exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfort working under minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, subject to applicable law and medical or religious accommodations.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients of all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other purposes.
• Enter patient information accurately and on time.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
