About The Position

As a Provider Services Specialist, you will be responsible for the provider experience from the time the provider signs a contract with UnityPoint through the provider’s first day of work. You are the providers’ “front door” to UnityPoint and act as an ambassador of the organization and the FOCUS values. In this role, you w ill coordinate the provider’s onboarding to the organization and serve as a resource to functional and operational teams for new provider data and onboarding support, to include the following: Upload or transfer the provider in the Lawson system. Process any payments due to provider before the start date such as signing bonus, residency stipend, etc. Communicate with clinic administrator, regional leadership, human resources, and CVO on any start date changes. Coordinate and maintain a transparent tracking grid with status of each provider throughout the onboarding process. Set up CME account and initiate relocation; facilitate CME and relocation reimbursement for expenses related to onboarding. Ensure pre-hire paperwork and requirements are complete and send to contract assistant to put in employee file. Communicate the “first day” details by sending the orientation schedules, I9 requirements, and a campus map as applicable. Collaborate with the provider compensation and payroll teams to validate that the first paycheck is in accordance with the provider employment agreement. Support the hospital privileging and payer enrollment process. Assist the provider with licensure/CSA/DEA acquisition. Monitor provider application and provide support as needed. Hold weekly credentialing calls to track enrollment status of new providers; report status to operations leaders and notify of any start date risk. Maintain regular communication with the new provider throughout the onboarding process. Assign “Connect the Doc” buddies and facilitate introductions. Assist relocating providers with community information and requests as needed. Notify compliance/risk management of new providers through the Source of Truth reporting. Collect new provider profile and facilitate professional headshot; ensure submission of profile and headshot to the local marketing team. Act as liaison for all provider questions and coordinate a timely response and follow-up for any issues. Perform other duties as assigned by Manager of Provider Services to facilitate the smooth and effective operations of Physician/Provider Onboarding.

Requirements

  • Must be a self-starter and have strong attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Credentialing experience and processes driven / process improvement work experience preferred.
  • Two years of experience with a healthcare organization preferred.
