About The Position

The Provider Services Specialist is responsible for processing provider reimbursements for services rendered to the Subsidy Program as well as educating participating child care providers on the program policies and regulations. Requirements

  • Knowledge of, and ability to use computers for client data, word processing and calendar of events
  • Strong communication (verbal & written), organization, and customer service skills required
  • Ability to work as a part of a team, which includes flexibility regarding job duties to meet agency and program needs
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout California to attend conferences, workshops, trainings and community meetings
  • Excellent math skills are mandatory
  • Experience providing good customer service to the public required
  • Must be able to travel as needed.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Good vision is imperative. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach; push; and pull. Manual dexterity and keyboarding are also required. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must lift and/or move 10 lbs.
  • Employees are responsible for complying with safe work rules; reporting all accidents and injuries immediately; cooperating in all accident and injury investigations; reporting defective equipment and unsafe conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong accounting experience preferred
  • Minimum of two years office experience including working with computers is preferred
  • OR equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Process provider reimbursements up to 80% of a full payment caseload for all programs
  • Explain program policies and regulations to child care providers
  • Determine continuing eligibility for provider participation on the Subsidized Child Care Program
  • Generate required program documents
  • Maintain up to 50% of a full caseload of provider files
  • Set up and assist with provider orientations
