About The Position

HMS, a Gainwell Company, is hiring Provider Enrollment Specialists for the Alaska MMIS Fiscal Agent contract. The role interfaces with providers, processes applications and requests, works with provider enrollment systems, and performs data entry to support accurate and current provider records. It also handles provider-related correspondence and inquiries, researches and documents issues, and tracks follow-up while ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. This is a hybrid role. Working in the Anchorage, Alaska office is preferred, with the possibility of working remotely from another state for the right candidate. The position works Alaska Standard Time hours. Employees assigned to work from home must have a reliable high-speed internet connection.

Requirements

At least one year of experience in credentialing, medical billing, or healthcare.
Professional communication with providers and customers.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet aggressive deadlines.
Attention to detail and the ability to follow directions and accurately track and follow up on assignments and enrollment applications.
Proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft Office, and strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
For work-from-home assignments, a reliable high-speed internet connection is required.

Responsibilities

Process and return moderately complex provider applications and requests, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Enter, verify, and maintain provider data in systems to ensure information is up to date and accurate.
Handle written correspondence and respond to internal and external inquiries related to provider enrollment.
Research issues, document resolutions, and track provider inquiries to ensure appropriate follow-up.
Follow applicable policies and procedures, provide clear guidance to providers, and support overall operations.
