About The Position

The Provider Credentialing Specialist ensures that all licensed massage therapists and behavioral therapists meet the standards required to deliver care through the Zeel platform. This role is critical to maintaining regulatory compliance, supporting government payer partnerships, and enabling high-quality care at scale. You will verify licensure, documentation, and training requirements while managing a streamlined credentialing workflow across multiple U.S. states. This is a remote position, however, you must be located within the United States.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in credentialing, compliance, provider enrollment, or healthcare administration
  • Familiarity with provider credentialing processes and standards (e.g., NCQA, URAC, state board licensure, NPDB)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage documentation across high volumes and multiple deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort working directly with healthcare professionals
  • Proficiency with credentialing systems, Google Workspace, and project tracking tools
  • Eligibility to work in the US (we do not sponsor work visas at this time)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in credentialing licensed massage therapists or other allied health professionals
  • Knowledge of credentialing compliance for VA, Medicaid, or Medicare Advantage programs
  • Background in multi-state provider networks or mobile care delivery models
  • NAMSS certification (CPCS or CPMSM) is a plus
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a bonus
  • Experience using Salesforce, Verifiable, Evident, and Kustomer a plus

Responsibilities

  • Conduct primary source verification of medical credentials, certifications, and background checks for new provider applicants
  • Ensure all credentialing documents are collected, validated, and stored in accordance with internal policies and HIPAA standards
  • Maintain and update provider records in credentialing systems and databases
  • Help with recredentialing outreach and assisting with application help
  • Assist with audits, reporting, and compliance filings related to provider credentials and service eligibility
  • Communicate directly with providers to request missing documentation and provide updates on credentialing status
  • Help manage end-to-end provider account creation
  • Collaborate with Onboarding, Compliance, and Provider Experience teams to support timely provider activation
  • Track state-specific requirements, expirations, and recredentialing renewal timelines to maintain an active, compliant network
  • Stay up to date on changes in licensure regulations, background check requirements, and clinical credentialing standards
  • Help manage relationships with credentialing and occupational health vendors
  • Occupational Health work (scheduling providers in mobile health, facilitating clinical authorization forms, overview of medical documents with clinical members)
