Dell Medical School is seeking a Provider Behavioral Health Consultant. This role supports mental health programs and initiatives developed through the Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium, with a focus on improving the quality and accessibility of mental health care for children and adolescents across Texas. The Child Psychiatry Access Network (CPAN) and the Perinatal Psychiatry Access Network (PeriPAN) are interdisciplinary clinical services programs intended to offer primary care clinic providers and OBGYNs prompt access to on-call psychiatrists to provide expertise in assessment, treatment, and referrals for pediatric and/or perinatal patients identified as having a mental health challenge. The Provider Behavioral Health Consultant (LPC, LCSW) works under the supervision of the program’s Medical Director in collaboration with the CPAN/PeriPAN Clinical Services Manager to help providers manage mental health concerns and facilitate referrals. This role provides consultation services to providers, including pediatricians, family medicine physicians, OB/GYN physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and/or midwives, who need assistance with patient behavioral health concerns, psychiatric consultation, behavioral management plans, or resources with the goal of increasing access to mental health services for mothers, children and adolescents. This is a state-funded position with an end date of 8/31/2027 that is renewable for another year.
