About The Position

The Protocol Technician Level 1 will be responsible for participating in lab and associated lab support areas on protocol & safety walks, documenting findings, and ensuring timely closure of corrective actions. This role involves monitoring and enforcing cleanroom protocols, including proper garment and PPE usage, and ensuring signage compliance. The technician will manage the daily tag and sweep of FOUP/FOSB, handle wafer/part storage, and drive the blue bin program for properly dispositioned parts. Additionally, the role includes routine checks and repairs of vacuum wands, collecting particle samples, supporting inspections, and providing support for special requests, customer visits, and emergency events. The technician will also make suggestions for lab Continuous Improvement (CIP) activities and track their implementation. Other duties may be assigned by client management.

Requirements

  • High School Degree
  • Minimal experience with semiconductor metrology equipment
  • Basic understanding of cleanroom protocols
  • Proven ability to interface with members of various departments
  • Reasonable organizational skills
  • Reasonable written and verbal communication skills
  • Good attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Document all findings from lab and associated lab support areas on protocol & safety walks in a database.
  • Follow up with task owners on root cause and corrective action for documented findings.
  • Approve and ensure timely closure of all findings in the database.
  • Utilize checklists on every walk to ensure protocol and safety adherence.
  • Ensure finding closure cycle times meet established goals.
  • Monitor, maintain, and enforce cleanroom protocols adherence, including proper wearing of garments and all PPE.
  • Assess and correct violations associated with items on the standardized CS&S audit checklist.
  • Ensure all signage is per corporate communications format specifications, applicable to the area it is posted, standardized where possible, and placed in easily viewable areas.
  • Daily tag and sweep FOUP/FOSB, document repeat offenders, and work with them to establish long-term corrective action.
  • Empty all blue racks daily at all campuses and ship FOSBs to B21/Reclaim.
  • Manage wafer/part storage program, including pickup and delivery of FOUP/FOSB from/to labs/clean room.
  • Drive the blue bin program for properly dispositioned parts from lab/clean room on average twice per week per building or as needed.
  • Perform routine checks and repairs, if necessary, of all vacuum wands at all campuses.
  • Collect particle samples quarterly and plot data onto a trend chart for all clean rooms and labs at all campuses.
  • Share particle sample results with management.
  • Support annual CUPA and Fire inspections at all campuses.
  • Provide support for special requests such as customer visits, media tours, and executive tours.
  • Provide support to BU in cleanup efforts such as tech room, bays, labs, etc. as assigned.
  • Support ERT in emergency events (site access, escort).
  • Make suggestions for lab Continuous Improvement (CIP) activity.
  • Track implementation of suggested improvements by employee.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by client management.
