About The Position

The Proto-Trak Machinist will produce machined parts by setting up and operating various pieces of CNC machinery including lathes and milling centers; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. We believe people should love what they do – in this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating Proto-Trak, CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers, mills by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets and compensation; including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry. You will also set up Proto-Trak’s, CNC lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets; indicating vices; tramming heads. You will verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces, adhering to international standards. You will maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; adjusting controls; replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. You will maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. You will maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. You will document actions by completing production and quality work orders and logs. You will update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications. You will accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Requirements

• Ability to work utilizing a partial face respirator (<5%25 of time)
• Ability to perform CNC Machinist Job Duties listed
• CNC setup and operation
• Ability to lift 70 pounds
• This position requires an individual to be a U.S citizen with the ability to obtain security clearance

Nice To Haves

• Experience with MAZATROL controller programming (5 years)
• Experience with HAAS controller programming (5 years)
• Understanding of G-Code
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T)
